1913 Banco Nacional De Mexico two Pesos Banknote Series RO P #S256a PCGS F 12

Description: A nice fine two pesos banknote issued by "Banco Nacional De Mexico" in Mexico. This is the December 6, 1913 issue banknote. The banknote is printed in black over a yellow and orange underprint. The front depicts the image of two men with their prospectors’ tools standing in front of each other to the right and the portrait of M. Garcia Teruel within an oval to the left. The front also displays the date, denomination, and four signatures. The front also has a red round seal at the left bottom corner. The back is orange with the image of the Mexican arms in a circular frame in the center. The back has a blue scalloped treasury seal near the top left of center. This particular note has the serial number 75982 printed in red twice on the front but not on the back. This is a series RO as evident in the left of center near the top of the front. There is also the red notation MC in the right of center near the top of the front. The banknote is graded 12 Fine by PCGS and comes in a plastic holder so labeled. Size: The banknote measures ~6" by ~2 3/4". Pick Number: S256a and is listed in Frampton Opus as M297b.

Condition: The note is graded as 12 Fine by PCGS and comes in a plastic holder so labeled. The note shows honest wear commensurate with its age and grade. It is soiled, shows folds and creases. The corners are intact rounding and bumps, the edges are intact and show appreciable roughness. The note has no graffiti, no tears, and no splits. It does have a small hole in the center where the vertical and horizontal folds meet resulting from extensive folding and unfolding.
