1969 Royal Copenhagen Large Annual Mug Sterling Silver Medallion Georg Jensen

  • $ 49.99

Description: This is a beautiful blue, white, and dark purple highlights large cylindrical mug with an applied handle. The mug which is dated 1969 is from the Annual Mugs series issued in the period 1967-2014 by the Royal Copenhagen pottery of Denmark. This pottery mug has a flat round base with a central button made of Sterling Silver. The button, which would benefit from a good polish, is marked "925 S DENMARK" in two lines and has the name "GEORG JENSEN" within a dotted oval. The design on the mug shows blue shapes with extensions highlighted by dark purple outlines or just small purple circles with blue centers. Very modernistic design! The date 1969 is written near the top within curved extensions of the design in light blue color. The mug has the mark for Royal Copenhagen pottery and additional markings on the base with which we are not familiar as well as the letter "H" in black all on the bottom of the base. A real nice piece which is very desirable by collectors of Mugs. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description.

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a real nice 54 years old piece in great condition, which is very desirable to collectors of Royal Copenhagen.

Condition: The Mug is in excellent condition. It has no chips, cracks, hairlines, crazing, or repairs. The piece is a bit soiled with the foot being a bit darkened with soiling and the Sterling Silver button, on the bottom, being a bit tarnished. It would benefit from a good cleaning to bring out its full beauty, but we leave that to the discretion of the new owner. Please see photos for additional condition information and details.
